　　独立存在于社会阶层两个极端的家庭因为一桩婚事凑到了一起。一个家庭地位显赫，属于上流社会成员；另一个家庭地位卑微，属于下层社会成员。但是这两个家庭即将要因为婚姻结成一体。

　　为了孩子和亲戚的婚事，两个家庭来到了马萨诸塞州的马撒葡萄园准备婚礼。可是，在筹划和举办婚礼的过程中，两个家庭因为地位、阶级和生活习惯的不同而闹出了许多笑话。不过，最终的结果还是令人欣慰的。所有人消除了偏见和分歧，一对新人也走到了一起。
