　　奥德尔（茅斯·达夫 Mos Def 饰）和路易斯（约翰·哈克斯 John Hawkes 饰）两位小贼相识于铁窗之后，颇为投机的两人决定出狱之后联手行动，干一票大买卖，就此安度余生。于是，两人将目标放在了名为弗兰克（蒂姆·罗宾斯 Tim Robbins 饰）的富有资本家身上，他们绑架了弗兰克的妻子米奇（詹妮弗·安妮斯顿 Jennifer Aniston 饰），以此向前者讨要巨额赎金。
可是，很快，奥德尔和路易斯就发现，他们的盘算落空了。原来，弗兰克早就有了性感美艳的情人玛姬（艾拉·菲舍尔 Isla Fisher 饰），根本没有想要赎人的意思，他巴不得两位绑匪尽快了结自己的糟糠之妻，如此一来自己便可以省下一大堆麻烦。
