◎简 介
影片讲了一个现代版的犹大出卖耶稣的故事，在真实展现都柏林的社会环境——教堂、酒馆、妓院时，穿插了政治和宗教情节。20世纪初，爱尔兰共和国局势动荡。在首都都柏林，警察局以20磅的赏金悬赏捉拿革命者弗兰克·麦克菲利浦。为得到赏金，基波·诺兰向警局告发了麦克菲利浦。接着，基波·诺兰为自己的背叛行为付出了代价：他被带到由革命党人组织的秘密法庭，在那里接受审讯，并得到了惩罚。影片中出现了一些寓言和象征性的镜头，预示着男主人公终因其盲目性和没有摆脱金钱的诱惑而成为了告密者。如当基波·诺兰在领取赏金时，这时，在茫茫的大雾中出现了一个瞎子，而一张悬赏告示被风吹了起来，缠在了基波·诺兰的腿上等。
