　　时间特工“我”（伊桑·霍克 Ethan Hawke 饰）奉命穿越时空，以试图阻止恐怖分子Fizzle Bomber的恶行。而在最后的一次任务中，“我”来到了1967年，在一个酒吧里遇见了约翰。约翰向“我”打赌他的故事是我从没听说过的。原来他曾爱上了一个完美的“神秘恋人”，但是有一天“神秘恋人”忽然背叛他，而梦想的破灭以及女儿的失踪致使他的生活陷入低谷。而我发现“神秘恋人”可能就是恐怖分子。因此，“我”决定带约翰穿越时空完成他向“神秘恋人”的复仇之路。在这个过程中，“我”逐渐发现了隐藏在时间悖论下不为人知的秘密。我们如同莫比乌斯环，周而复始的延续着我们的命运……
